Communications Officer

21 hours per week – £27,000 (fte)

 This is your chance to join a fantastic dynamic team of staff and volunteers, dedicated to working against domestic violence and abuse in the Jewish community.

You’ll be an experienced Communications professional with a strong track record, passionate about using your knowledge and experience of traditional and social media and communications to achieve maximum impact for Jewish Women’s Aid.

You’ll be an excellent oral and written communicator, including copywriting and news writing, able to translate complex and sensitive issues into compelling content for a range of audiences across all JWA’s media, digital, marketing and campaigns. You’ll have strong experience of digital strategy and maintaining websites and blogs.

You’ll be managing JWA’s communications to raise the profile of JWA in the wider community, and to build engagement. You’ll be enthusiastic, proactive, creative, flexible and organised. You will enjoy working within a team.

Qualified Counsellor (BACP/UKCP accredited)

10 hours per week (over 2 days)

£25,000 fte

 JWA’s counselling service provides a free Person Centred Face-To-Face and Telephone counselling to Jewish women experiencing all forms of domestic abuse.

The post holder will be based at JWA’s head office in Barnet, work with 4-6 clients a week and will support evaluation and monitoring of the counselling service. You will receive regular clinical supervision and CPD opportunities.

We are looking for a compassionate, non-judgemental and motivated individual who is passionate about supporting abuse survivors. You will already have experience of working with vulnerable clients, ideally with women. Good understanding of domestic abuse dynamics and knowledge of the Jewish community is essential.

Safer Dating Coordinator

14 hours per week

£22,956 fte (depending on experience)

JWA’s Safer Dating programme exists in order to educate Jewish young adults (16 – 25) about domestic violence and signs of abusive or unhealthy relationships. The role will include creating and delivering sessions and events for groups in youth movements, university campuses, community groups and other settings. It will also involve building and maintaining the social media presence of the programme.

The JWA team is based in North London, this post will be based in our head office with outreach work across the UK. The Safer Dating coordinator will also support the education project working in Jewish secondary schools.

You’ll be enthusiastic, creative, and able to work with a wide range of young people and adults. You will already have experience of presenting informal educational sessions on sensitive topics. Understanding of domestic violence and knowledge of the Jewish community is also essential.

Treasurer (voluntary)

Jewish Women’s Aid is a London-based charity working with women and children affected by domestic and sexual violence. The organisation has grown significantly over the last few years and we are keen to recruit talented members to join our active and committed Board of Trustees.

We are seeking a candidate with appropriate experience to become JWA’s Treasurer.  In particular, we are looking for a candidate who is a qualified accountant and who has a good understanding of charity accounting.

Successful candidates will be expected to attend 8 board meetings and one away day each year as well as participate on Board sub-committees, and attend regular finance meetings.
