Children

Domestic abuse is when one grown-up threatens, hurts or bullies another grown-up. Domestic abuse can happen between parents, married couples, girlfriends and boyfriends, or after a couple has split up. It can happen when people live together or when they live in different houses.

Sometimes, children can also be hurt or bullied as part of domestic abuse, but remember abuse is never YOUR fault.

In the children’s pages of this website we try to answer some of the questions that children under 11 ask us. We explain things in a way that is easy to understand. Our specialist children’s worker has years of experience in helping younger children come to terms with what they have seen and witnessed, and how it makes them feel. If you are worried about how you are feeling (or about your child) then do please contact us on 020 8445 8060.
