Amy Winehouse Private Exhibition

Over 60 people joined together in support of JWA. They started viewing an installation of paintings of Amy, then went onto hear from Tracy and why she thought JWA was an accurate fit with the exhibition. The guest’s then heard from Naomi Dickson Chief Executive of JWA, who spoke about the work JWA does.

She went on to explain how a client with 2 children utilised the services, after suffering from physical and emotional abuse from her husband. JWA was there too support them from practical advice, refuge support and emotional support.

She also spoke about the importance of preventing domestic abuse in the future by educating young people in schools and via JWA’s new Safer Dating programme, aimed at 16-25 year olds.

The guests then followed the curator up to the exhibition who explained how this came about and talked about the story of her life. Many guests asked questions and got immersed in her story. They were then free to explore the museum.

The event raised over £1,000 for JWA
