IDEVAW 2016 campaign

Face the truth: survivors of domestic abuse desperately need your help

Please support us today by clicking here to make a donation online.

This year we have seen an unprecedented increase in the number of women asking for our help. Over 50% more women than last year have contacted us for support, with the total number of women rising from 400 to 600. This has put our services under huge pressure, and we want to be there for every single woman who needs us.

By the time women call us, many have suffered for years. We can only support them if we have the funding to do so. As a charity, we depend on the generosity of the Jewish community for over 90% of our vital work.

Your donation will make a direct difference, helping us to pay for the crucial services that support women and children to take steps to a life free from abuse.

Face the facts: women typically suffer 35 episodes of abuse or violence before they tell anybody

Domestic violence and abuse is physical, verbal, sexual, psychological, emotional and financial. And it happens here, in your area. Women seeking our help come from across the breadth of the Jewish community.

Globally, 1 in 3 women experience domestic violence or abuse during their lifetimes. The United Nations has designated 25th November each year as an international day of awareness raising (IDEVAW) about violence against women. The worldwide campaign is coloured orange, and #orangetheworld is used across the world in different ways: many buildings and monuments were bathed in orange.
